The Fresher’s day was organized by IInd MSc Physics students of St. Philomena College, for the newly joined students of P.G. Physics on 13/08/2015.

The formal function commenced at 9:30am.Rev Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, chair person of P.G. studies was the president of the function. Dr A. P. Radhakrishna, H.O.D. of Physics was the chief guest. Dr E. Deepak D’Silva coordinator of MSc Physics was also present on this occasion.

The programme began with the prayer. The Coordinator Dr E. Deepak D’Silva wished the fresher’s for their betterment, and said, “Discipline and study goes parallel and bring good results. Being the post graduate students one has to concentrate more on academics, has to go beyond classroom studies and should practice self study by referring text books and fetching the updated informations from internet”.

Chief Guest Dr A. P. Radhakrishna in his address said, “Sathya Nadella, Shiv Nadar, Sunder Pichai being the heads of the great international organizations, made India proud by their achievements. Similarly being Physics students by hard working, one can also reach to the great heights”. He also advised the students to use every opportunity and to go for research in renowned national and international institutions”. President of the function Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro said in his address that, “In order to achieve good results, one must love the subject. Today everyone is using modern technologies for communication, and to access informations. There are possibilities that one become slave to these gadgets and spoil his career. Therefore one should be careful and watch-over himself while using these gadgets”.

After the formal programme, various games were conducted for the fresher’s. Ms Savitha Monteiro welcomed the gathering. Mr Bharath presented vote of thanks and Ms Samatha K. was the master of ceremony.
